I've never done drabbles, but I'm unlikely to post anything more before I go on vacation so I'm picking up this offer from trishabooms and kitty_trio:

The first ten people to comment on this post get to request a drabble from me. In return, you have to post this meme in your journal. (If you want to.)

So, for the first 10 commenters...I'll do Karl or any Karl character (except Riddick/Vaako since I'm already working on "Only the Strong"), any pairing with him you'd like, het or slash. Post any specific request/prompt (if you come up against a personal squick of mine I'll let you know). Just realize I don't guarantee how it'll turn out, since I've never written this format before.

BUT...please note I don't do actor!fic. Any RPF will be AU.

I'll ask for Woodrow F. Call, not het... something leaning slash-ish, or gen (possibly Blue Duck, since his hatred for 'Gun in the Water' seemed to have personal undertones). If that doesn't spark a drabbly interest, just seeing anything you put your special touch to the taciturn Captain Call would be fabo.

cupid/strife and you have to start or end with this sentence: Enjoying this situation far more than he should, Ares patted his son on the back and sent the two nervous and blushing gods a parting shot "Play nice now, boys. Dite and I have been trying to get you together for millenia now." before disappearing.

meh. i liked ares. hope this is workable.

I'm sorry, Cupid/Strife is not a problem, but I can't work with that sentence for several reasons...

Ares isn't Cupid's father. (That's fanon, not canon...of all the myths of Cupid's parenthood, I went with the one that Cupid didn't have a dad; Aphrodite was basically born pregnant, male and female love created together.)

Ares didn't seem to care about anyone except himself, and sometimes Xena and Gabrielle, and Aphrodite when she was the only one left. He wasn't that nice to Strife, so I really don't see him as caring who Strife hooked up with.

I'm sorry, I know there is a ton of fic out there that portrays Ares as this poor misunderstood guy and Herc and Xena in the wrong for meddling with his plans, but I just can't buy it. To me he's the villain who cold-bloodedly plotted Serena's murder, even after she and Herc were promised they would be safe if they gave up their powers.

If you'd like a Cupid/Strife sans Ares (either a sweet crush one or an edgy PWP), I'd be happy to do that. And if you don't want anything at all, I certainly understand and am sorry to disappoint you.

i just like ares, the guy was fun. and hot. lol yeah, seen some of that fic and its ok, but mainly i see him doing it for the kicks! plus i really didn't like hercules and gabrielle, xena was ok.
what can i say? i prefer to think that the family tree never came up just because it is/was suposed to be common knowledge :]

He was a fun villain, and well-portrayed by Kevin Smith. That he could pull off that racer-stripe beard is proof of his charisma.

I'm not sure, then: Did you want Cupid/Strife without Ares, another pairing/fandom, or nothing at all?

If I had my choice I would love to see Cupid as the God of War. I know that there was a AU episode of either Hercules or Xena (I can't remember) where Ares was the God of Love and Cupid was the God of War, but we never actually got to see Cupid in all his war glory. Of course I would want it to be Strife/Cupid. Strife wouldn't be the God of Mischief, but I can't remember if he was in that episode or what he was the god of.

Posted. I don't think Strife was mentioned in the episode, but with a name like Strife there aren't a whole lot of things he could be god of (certainly not something innocent like mischief).

Hi. Complete stranger (though I've devoured everything you've written, because I have this unreasonable love for Karl and yeah...well) here.

But if you feel like writing, then Karl/Sean, with Sean the classy cultured Victorian-born vampire and Karl the hunter.

If you want to, of course. But it would be kind of neat to see. And then I can see it before I get my lazy ass in gear and write that Hellsing-ripoff I've been thinking about a long time.

Oh, gods, THAT thing.

That was so...weird. Wrote it like when I was 13, I think and on this massive Megaherz kick (the story's title comes from one of their songs) and then I had this idea of Karl being really messed up and well...yeah. :P

I'll try to come up with something a little newer (I like to think I've gotten a little better in five years, but we'll say.)
