Hello,

I just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who took the time to comment. I really appreciate your thoughts on the stories I've posted here.

To give a little background, the company I've worked 10+ years for may be sold off/laying off soon, and it seems that people I thought were friends have decided the best way to keep their own jobs is to put down their colleagues. You can't say anything because it's the boss's pals doing it. I mean, I know I do a good job (and have got the reviews to prove it), but after a while it really starts to wear you down and make you question yourself.

So it's very reassuring and encouraging to hear from you that I was right in thinking that I was letting things warp my perspective. I'll certainly keep your comments in mind next time I'm thinking of hitting the delete key.

Hang on in there!!

I hope the work problems will blow over and that those in charge will look at the hard evidence (i.e. your work record), rather than listening to mean gossip!

I can imagine how stressful it must be to find out that people you liked are backstabbing you and seeing how much time we all spend at work, problems there sound extra awful.

I don't know if you get Easter hols, but whether you do or not, pamper yourself next weekend, take nice, hot baths, long walks and eat some extra lovely chocolate!

do I ever know. The company I work for was bought out last year so we went from privately held to being part of a large, multi-national corporation. They are now spinning off our piece of the business to it's own. Without fail, this de-merger is happening early in the month, about like when they acquired us. I work in finance and we work around a calendar month. I despise extra closings. The only thing I can say is keep your spirits up and keep doing what you're doing. Being the current boss's buddies doesn't help when you get sold off, but your reviews on file will help you.

By the way, I'm missing Riddick :) Eomer and Ghost are well and good, and I adored your foray into alt-reality RPS, but I could truly use a new dose of Riddick/Vaako.
