Poll winner and casting call

Hello,

By a margin of four votes, it's Prince Karl II: A young prince (Karl) ambushed in an untamed land is forced to hide his royal connections when he falls into the hands of a local warlord (Sean). Sean 34/Karl 21 I probably won't begin posting this story until it's essentially done.

Now, Karl's companions are all cast, but I'll admit I'm going to have a problem filling Sean's side of the story. You see, other than Eomer, the last blond I fancied in and of himself was A.J. Simon back in the day. (Now I tend to only notice a blond if he's paired with a personal fave, like Chakotay/Paris, Sawyer/Sayid, Karl/Sean, etc.)

So...here's a casting call: pitch me any blond actors and/or blonde actresses you'd like to see strolling around Sean's medieval-type castle. All ages, but they should be living and acting right now.

Well, the first blond who springs to mind is John Simm, who played the lead role in Life on Mars on the BBC (really fun, well-done show that I highly recommend) and also played The Master in this season's Doctor Who. One role was a conscientious, three dimensional cop who had strong morals but who sometimes had to give in to pressure, and the other was Teh Evil Overlord, both of which he pulled off very well, IMHO.

I've only seen Kristen Bell in the first season of Veronica Mars, but I thought she was brilliant in that. I don't know how either of these suggestions would fit into a warlord's court, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in :) Have fun writing!

Yay! The one I voted for won! *squees* Can't wait to read it! For casting though...it wasn't 'til I thought about it that I realized most of the actors I like are dark-haired. So, here's my stab at it...Paul Bettany (great as Chaucer), and David Anders (Sark on Alias) or Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, though the latter two are not really natural blondes... As for girls, Rosamund Pike? Or Miranda Otto, though again not a natural blonde. *g* For someone more hard-edged, Uma Thurman. Hee.

I still can't believe that First Blood's over, esp. since a sequel (or something in the same 'verse) seems unlikely. But, I understand also when a writer's all written-out on a series... *sighs*

Well, if John Simm (who's brilliant btw) counts as blond, then I think Ewan McGregor should as well, although he's more of a redhead. And Dave and Viggo (*points at icon*) are total musts, I second skegirl. :P

Can't believe I can't think of more, I have a minor blond fixation in RL *snort*. There is, of course, Jude Law, but I think he's vile.

Vincent Cassell, perhaps? Red-blond-brown or sth. Not sure how his name is spelt, but he was in Oceans 12 and will be in Eastern Promise.

And how could I forget Daniel Craig?? Not in his Bond-beefcake-state, but in an earlier, still muscled but lean incarnation, e.g. from Love is the Devil (minus the black dye job, of course).

And my latest favourite blond is Simon Woods, Octavian in Rome. If you find his pompous, cold-hearted manner off putting, it's worth remembering that he was an adorable, shy, stuttering and strawberry blond Mr. Bingley in a previous role.

As for the girls, I second Cate Blanchett, as advocated above.

For a funny side-kick kinda guy you could try Alan Tudyk (he was in "A Knight's Tale" with Paul Bettany & Heath Ledger and he was in "Firefly", of course...) =:o

For a great tough guy you could try Kevin McKidd from "Rome" (even though he's really a blondish red-head)...

A white-hair type of blond guy would be James Morrison from "24"...he use to get (/) slashed in stories alot when he was on an old show called "Prey"....

Another blond TV guy would be Michael Weatherly from "Dark Angel" & "NCIS"...

They aren't the usual guys seen in stories but I thought I'd throw them out there anyway... :}

Got gravitas? How about Michael Caine or Rutger Hauer (from Ladyhawk)? And maybe a few ass-kickers like Dolph Lundgren (Rocky's Ivan Dragov), Jason Statham, Aaron Eckhart, or Callum Keith Rennie (BSG). Oh, and Charlie Hunnam (because he's pretty) and James Marsters (actually Spike) for some cheek.
